GRAVITY BRINGS 3G TO TV | 21/01/2008
Sydney, 21 January 2008; Gravity, developer of cutting edge technologies for user interaction across mobile, internet and broadcast media, today announces the market introduction of its new 3G-to-TV video calling solution.
The solution powers Vidcast, Australia's first Participation TV program, to be aired daily on MTVs new interactive music channel The Music Factory (TMF) and launched to the public today.
Commissioned by Optus, Gravity developed the technological backbone for the Vidcast service. Its key components are the 3G-to-TV video calling solution, a moderator tool, a mobile site, as well as interactive SMS and MMS services. TMF viewers can record, review and submit video clips for broadcasting on TMF TV, simply by making a standard video call from a 3G mobile phone to TMF Vidcast. Using Gravity's state-of-the-art moderator tool, TMF then reviews, administers and selects the submitted video clips for broadcasting on TV or publishing on TMF's mobile site.
Gravity first launched its 3G-to-TV technology in May 2007, offering broadcasters a fully integrated platform to receive, moderate, publish, broadcast, manage and analyse live and recorded digital content across mobile, internet and TV.
